Arethusa Farm Stand Membership

Becoming a Arethusa Farm Stand member means that you pledge to support our farm by pre-paying in exchange for a share in the season’s harvest. Your pre-payment buys you a tab at our Farmers Market stand, and throughout the growing season you can choose your favorite vegetables from our stand in quantities that work for you. There is no penalty if you miss a market and you can sign up or renew at any time.

In exchange for your support you will receive a

10% added value on your purchases for the season.

We created our Farm Stand Membership as an alternative to the typical CSA model, to provide you more flexibility and convenience while shopping at the farmers market, and to help you to eat seasonally and get connected to the food you eat. We grow a wide selection of vegetables throughout the spring, summer, and fall including salad greens, peas, green beans, tomatoes, cabbage, cucumbers, kale, herbs, summer squash, onions, leeks, garlic, melons, carrots, beets, parsnips, and more! During the winter months we offer winter squash, root vegetables, dry beans, popcorn and preserved vegetables through our online farm stand.

You can choose the size of your share (minimum $100), prepay now, and use your membership at our stand at the Burlington Farmers Market on Saturdays from May through October, and through our Winter Farm Store on Tuesdays and Fridays November through March. The amount you pay is non-refundable but will carry over into the next summer if you don’t use it all in one season.

Working Member Opportunities

Volunteers are invited to join our Friday morning working member program and come to Arethusa Farm from 8am-12pm each week from May thru October. At the end of the morning’s work, you’re free to walk the fields and harvest your weekly share of vegetables. You do not need to commit to the entire season, we welcome new people just dropping in for one Friday, or one part of the season.

Visiting Our Farm

We love to have people visit our farm. We are open to hosting groups of all sizes and all ages. Depending on the season we can offer a guided tour of our our fields or we can arrange a special hands-on activity for school groups. In early spring we might be planting or seeding in the greenhouse, in the summer months we will probably be pulling weeds, and in the fall we will be harvesting carrots, beets or winter squash.

We ask groups with more than 5 people to pay $50-$100 based on the size of your group and the amount of time spent at the farm. Please contact Thomas at arethusafarm@gmail.com if you are interested in setting up a visit. Let us know how many people in your group, the age of the students, and what dates/times you would like to visit. If cost is prohibitive please contact us and we can arrange a sliding scale payment.

Thanks!
